Peggy Li was the fiancée and eventual wife of Sun On Yee red pole, Winston Chu.
Biography
Background
Peggy had been the long-term girlfriend of Winston and the two eventually decided to get married. The two had been engaged for eight months, during which Peggy fervently planned for her perfect wedding. Peggy was openly accepting of Winston's status as a Triad Red Pole and since been a loyal and loving companion, believing it to be important to provide Winston with emotional support.
Events of Sleeping Dogs
On the eve of her wedding day with Winston, Peggy was introduced to Wei Shen who offered his help to perform final errands for the wedding while Winston was preoccupied. Peggy was warm and friendly towards Wei, accepting him as family, even acknowledging that he was a gangster and offered to help him find a healthy relationship with one of her friends, though Wei declined. The two drove around town and collected Peggy's wedding dress, cake, and black orchid flowers - Peggy explained that the black orchids were her mother's favourite flower and that at a wedding they guarantee that the couple stay together for the remainder of their lives.
The wedding proceeded and Winston and Peggy successfully wed. During reception, the wedding was ambushed and attacked by the Jade Gang, disguised as both the 18K Triad and the catering staff and led by Johnny Ratface. Both Peggy and Winston were shot and killed in the massacre, falling victim to the power struggle within the triad.
