Mahjong Poker, also known in game as Poker Mahjong, is an activity in Sleeping Dogs.
Wei Shen can play mahjong poker at two offshore gambling dens.
Wei can bet up to $5000, and win up to $25000 per hand. Wei can only play mahjong poker against one other player, who is the dealer.
RulesThe game uses a set of Mahjong tiles. First there is an initial betting stage. The game begins with all tiles being placed face down and shuffled by hand - also known as "washing" the tiles. They are then stacked in a pile. Next, five tiles are dealt to both players, all face up. During his or her respective turn, the player can choose to discard unwanted tiles and drawing new ones, or pass. This is then repeated for a second time. The third and final round is a showdown, where players compare hands. The player with the highest value hand wins and is paid according to the payout odds.
- Standard four-player Mahjong is seen being played by others, but a more simple game was probably chosen for novices due to the complex scoring rules of regular Mahjong.
- Even after Yar Kwai Lai is arrested, the dealer remains the same character model.
