Big Scar Wu also known as Smiley Cat, is a character in the Sleeping Dogs expansion pack, Nightmare in North Point and the main antagonist of this DLC. He has also been seen in the cancelled Triad Wars, the free-to-play open world online multiplayer game.
Biography[]
Background[]
Big Scar Wu was one of Hong Kong’s most ruthless triad gangsters. Feared as much by those who stood against him as those who stood by him in the Sun On Yee, it was decided by the Grand Dragon that he must be stopped. Looking to send a message, Ponytail and a group of other members ran him over with a car and stabbed him 42 times before feeding his bleeding corpse to the grinder at the Smiley Cat food processing plant which was his final resting place, in the food bowls of the city’s pet cats. However, they cut off the pinky finger from his left hand, preventing him from getting any rest in the afterlife.
When Big Scar Wu arrived in the underworld and word spread of his demise, they renamed him Smiley Cat, much to his chagrin, with the name fuelling his bitterness with every utterance and driving his thirst for revenge. Rising from Hell and vowing to exact his revenge, Smiley Cat has raised an army of Jiang Shi, vowing to destroy the Sun On Yee and to create Hong Kong’s most fearsome criminal empire.
Events of Nightmare in North Point[]
With the city in chaos and its citizens possessed, Wei Shen faces a challenge far more sinister than any before. To save Hong Kong, he must seek out the most powerful of Chinese magic, endowing him with a power strong enough to take on Smiley Cat’s army of Jiang Shi and face-off against the ghosts of Triads he has defeated in the past, sending the dead back to Hell once and for all. Wei then makes his way to the Temple, where he fights and banishes Smiley Cat, ending the threat on the city once and for all.
Triad Wars (Horror in Hong Kong)[]
Big Scar Wu reappears in his turf in North Point with the 18K guarding him. The only way is that the player tries to invade Big Scar Wu's turf in order to defeat him and his army of Jiang Shi and demons. He appears in the third challenge of Horror in Hong Kong.

- His nickname "Smiley Cat" might be a nod to famous creepypasta story around internet,Smile Dog.
- According to Vincent, the cats that ate the cat food from the processing plant ended up vomiting shortly thereafter.
- He doesn't like it if you call him "Smiley Cat."
